Before Spring break we reviewed a bit about the media and how it has spread across the waters to Hawaii. For myself personally, I haven't let the internet shirt myself as a person. The internet is just another tool, I choose to not let it control my life and my decisions. To some others, the internet has already had an impact on their indentities.
Due to the changes in technology, I fully expect the education system that we grow up in to fully change soon over the next years. Even in our classes today, teachers have already headed towards the internet and use things such as D2L, Solar, etc. I think using the internet to try to expand our education is pointless in my opinion, online courses are already a terrible source as is, and I think committing to them long term or down the road will be a huge mistake. For myself, hands on education is the BEST.
Going back to my first paragraph, I think the internet has already impacted many people's lives already, which is not good. I do not think the internet or any technology, whether its phones, iPods, etc should have an effect on our identities. With the more advancements in the world, things could get ugly.
